Someday I'm gonna get around to organizing this better, and maybe implementing columns so the page is responsive. I'm mainly trying to only include active personal sites and other oddities, but that's neither a hard nor a fast rule.
This explains link pages better than I ever could, and is the reason this page exists. You want to be a good citizen of the web, don't you?
A search engine for the odd corners of the web. Not so much a replacement for G**gle as a supplement to it (although the big G is getting worse and worse every day). Has some very robust /cool features, such as being able to filter for wikis or blogs or the indieweb. Check out the random sites page.
Another indie search engine. Looks much more G**gly than Marginalia-Search, but it is far less feature-rich (which could be a positive or a negative, depending on your temperament). BE WARNED: the creator seems to be an AI liker, or at least has been.
I really like the concept of digital bruitalism. Something about how whereas the old web was people using simple tools to make their websites look pretty now people are using advanced tools to make their sites look ugly is intriguing to me.
An absolutely incredible reference for the history of those weird ninja-star-looking forts they used to build. I pulled a bunch of references from here for my album's cover art.
As MuseScore is becoming more and more corporate/AI-infected, I'm desperately looking for an alternative. LilyPond is one of them. Instead of pointing and clicking as you would in a traditional engraving app, you input code in a separate text window. LilyPond doesn't even have audio out: you need to export midi from your project and then play it with a separate piece of software. PROs: not gonna get slopified anytime soon, forces you to write your music out by hand first. CON: serious learning curve.
A free banner ad system for the the indieweb. Totally free, and very popular for what it is (a free banner ad system for the the indieweb).
ArivertisementsAn alternative to Johnvertisements, if that's too mainstream for you. Less popular, but has some safety/performance optimizations. Plus you can be like 10% of all the ads if you put in for one.
The Doll ArchiveThis is a very victorian-wallpapery site, except it's all in pixel art.
One of many cool pages maintained by queer people. I would recommend checking out the arthropod photos page and the list animals until failure game. I got 44.
THIS is what the internet is for: kooks to make their own weird little websited that hurt your eyes but at the end of the day you can't really disagree with anything they've said.
Red Army CapybaraAbsolutely essential reading on the DPRK. You will become a tankie after this or, if not, then after reading any Parenti.
Does what it says on the tin. It's a very cool blog replete with music reviews and sports chat and is, for the time being at least, weekly.
...dogspit...
The most impressive indieweb site I've ever seen: it feels like the Space Jam website got completely out of control. And there's this thing called "Melonlinks" or something? where different indieweb "ads" cycle at the top-right of the page? I dunno; you just gotta see it for yourself.
